If you're engaged in post-click marketing, you know it's a lot of work. It's a lot of work because you need to iterate, iterate and iterate some more to get to those elusive double-digit conversion rates. And if you're like me, you want any advantage you can gain over short attention spans and itchy click fingers.

One competitive advantage that makes some experiences outperform others is the use of engaging Flash. Appropriate and judicious use of interaction and animation can help a lot in giving you sizzle to keep people moving forward. But Flash development is time-consuming and expensive — especially when you need to iterate, iterate and iterate some more.

All of this led us to develop a more post-click friendly approach to Flash. To make it work, we needed it to be easily manipulated (iterated) on the fly. We needed to be able to develop a Flash file once, but use it over and over again. We needed to make the copy, links and images used within these Flash Objects dynamically editable by average post-clickers (like me). Done.

I'm not riffing here to promote our solution. I'm riffing to promote everyday use of more compelling design in post-click marketing. The point isn't that we've skinned this elusive cat. It's that it can be skinned. And if this one can be skinned, then so can a bunch of others that stand in the way of raising conversion rates beyond the pathetic norm.

Think beyond landing pages. And beyond static words and still images. Think bigger.
